Don't delay. Make it happen

No more "Pyongyang Time". North Korea moved into the future today and set their clocks ahead by 30 minutes to sync time zone with the South’s. Could this changing of clock the first step toward reunifying the Korean peninsula?

Do something today to move in the direction of a position you are passionate about. It may take five years before you are in that role, but if you don't start today, it will take five years and one day. If you want your life to be different, you have to make it happen. All of the thinking or planning isn't going to improve your life if you're not willing to go out and take action and make changes.

I don't know about you, but I think the greatest challenge in life, is how to turn what we know into what we actually do. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.

Most of the problems in life are because of two reasons: we act without thinking, or we keep thinking without acting. To reap a harvest we have to sow seeds. To arrive we have to begin. Why wait for the ship to come in if we haven't sent one out?

Imagine that you're on your deathbed. You hear the beep...beep...beep of the monitor nearby. As you lie there, you start to look back on your life. You never made the change you wanted. You stayed stuck in that same job, that same relationship, that same overweight body until now, the day you die. What do you feel? Regret? Remorse? Sorrow? What would you give if you could go back to this moment and do things differently. If only.....

If you're truly ready to change your life, start taking the actions to propel you forward. Again, pretty straightforward, right?

So what are your baby steps? What are the interim steps between your current life and your dream that you can take? Maybe that first step is taking some time in silence and solitude to work out what you are most passionate about. Then start to take those steps. If you want a new job, apply for one. Put together are resume. Get out there to network. Search the classifieds, talk to friends

There are a dozen of things you can do right now that will move you closer to work or life that is more fulfilling. Make a commitment to yourself that in the next 24 hours you will do something to take a step in that direction. One thing. Identify it and do it.

Nike has tapped into a sentiment that is so appropriate for us: just do it. There comes a time when you have to say to yourself, "I may not have all the answers yet, and I'm not exactly sure where this is going to go, but that's okay. I'm going to take charge of my life and go for it!"

I really mean DO them. Don't say you will, and then don't. Don't hype yourself up, and then push it off until tomorrow. A little bit of something is better than a lot of nothing. Well done is better than well said.
